Progress – the movement towards a refined, improved or otherwise desired state of living has been a driving motive for all individuals in a developing nation like India. Gone are the times, where people would gather around limited resources to compete for their usability in order to strive and break through their success. Today, access to clean and safe living conditions equipped with timely drinking water, food and privacy are basic amenities for all individuals in this pursuit.

What our country has, however, time and again failed at, is providing a safe and nurturing environment to girls and women to pursue progress in their personal, educational and professional streams. Caged in stereotypes, females for the longest time have been tasked with supporting the men around them in the capacity of daughters, sisters, wives and mothers. When we perceive them within these roles, we forget them as individuals with personal needs and desires. This has been further aggravated by the lack of spaces for them to function carefreely, safely and privately.

Vigor and Verve Girls’ Hostel aims to bridge this very gap in our society. As a holistic lodging, I visualize this hostel to become a haven for all those women and girls who leave their homes in search of their passion projects. Migrating to Raipur, many feel overwhelmed by several factors that further interfere in their path to betterment. Providing a safe space, cultivating like- minded people, we wish to support all of you out there in achieving your dreams, because you deserve this.

NOTE OF THANKS

While success stories more often than not come with a plethora of hardships, they also contain characters that act as the backbone of the success. Just like that, it would be incorrect to say that all my current achievements have been mine in insolation. They would not have been possible without the superheroes of my story - my parents. While words cannot express all that they have done for me and the gratitude that I feel for them, I would like to say a big thank you since we as humans do not say this enough. We don’t appreciate our parents growing up and leave too many words unspoken. I wish to take this platform to let them and everyone else know that all of this and me would not have been here today without my parents.

Having said that, I also appreciate all my family members and friends who have supported me in their own ways, whether that be big or small. Thank you for overlooking my mistakes and always accommodating me in your spaces. Your acts of kindness always leave me with more energy and hope for a better tomorrow.
